Free classes for adults, taught by people who want to see you succeed — GED prep, English classes, computer skills, and more. A few sessions ask you to register ahead of time, so check the details below before you head in.

GED / HSE Classes
Prepare for your High School Equivalency exam with free GED/HSE prep classes offered at the Main Library, in partnership with Literacy New Jersey. Classes meet 2 times a week for 12 weeks, with morning and evening sessions available.

GED Testing at EPL
Elizabeth Public Library is an official in-person GED testing site — take your proctored exam right here at the Main Library. Register for your test through the official GED testing service and select EPL as your testing location.

English Conversation Group
Practice your English in a friendly, welcoming group setting. This free program is open to adults of all English proficiency levels and is a great way to build confidence in everyday conversation.
ESL Classes
Free English as a Second Language classes are offered at the Main Library in partnership with Literacy New Jersey. Morning and evening classes available for multiple skill levels.

Computer Classes
